How to plan seating for hotel and restaurant terraces
Capacity, service aisles and brand atmosphere must work together. Here is a contract-ready layout framework we use on projects.
Read capacity from square metres
Allow roughly 1.8–2.4 m² net per two-seat setting, plus 90–110 cm for service paths. Narrow balconies favour banquette + table; wider terraces suit modular L layouts.
Operations reality
Do not block plate-carrying routes with furniture. Wipeable cushions and movable side tables keep peak season smooth.
Brand language and materials
